NORPART Mobility Grants
NORPART supports academic cooperation and mobility between Norwegian institutions and partner countries in the Global South. It is not usually an individual scholarship that anyone can apply for independently.
Required documents
- Home university nomination.
- Passport.
- Academic transcripts.
- CV.
- Motivation letter.
- Learning agreement or research plan.
- Recommendation from department, if required.
- Proof of enrolment at a partner university.
- English language proof, if required.
- Mobility agreement.
Eligible nationalities
- Students from institutions in NORPART partner countries.
- Eligibility depends on whether the student's home university is part of a NORPART project.
- Not open worldwide as a general individual scholarship.
- Usually linked to Global South partnerships.
- Norwegian students may also participate in reciprocal mobility.
How to apply
- Ask your university international office whether it has a NORPART project.
- Confirm whether your department is included.
- Apply internally through your university.
- The home university nominates selected students.
- The Norwegian partner institution confirms placement.
Usual timeline
- Start preparing: 6 to 9 months before exchange.
- Internal calls: depend on the university.
- Nomination: usually several months before travel.
- Results: after internal selection.
- Visa/residence process: after nomination.
- Arrival: depends on semester, often August or January.
- Grant payment: usually before or after arrival, depending on project rules.
