DSU Regional Scholarships in Italy
DSU scholarships are regional right-to-study grants. They can cover tuition fees, meals, accommodation and a cash stipend depending on the student's economic situation and academic progress. University of Pisa notes that DSU applications are submitted online and the call is usually published every year in July.
Required documents
- Online DSU application form.
- Passport copy.
- University admission or application proof.
- Fiscal code, if available.
- Family income certificate.
- Family composition certificate.
- Property ownership certificate.
- Bank balance or assets certificate for each family member, if required.
- Documents proving unemployment or no income, if applicable.
- Certified translation into Italian.
- Legalisation or apostille, if required.
- ISEE/ISEEU calculation documents for non-Italian income.
- Academic credits and transcripts for renewal applicants.
Eligible nationalities
- Open to Italian, EU and non-EU students, depending on regional rules.
- Non-EU students can apply but usually face heavier documentation requirements.
- Refugee and stateless students may have special document rules.
- Eligibility is mainly based on income, assets and merit.
- Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enrol at a university in that region.

- Call publication: often July.
- Application deadline: usually August or September.
- Provisional ranking: autumn.
- Final ranking: late autumn or winter.
- Benefits start: meals/accommodation may start earlier; cash payments may arrive later.
- Renewal: every academic year, with required credits and updated income documents.
