Scholarships for Palestinian Students 2027/2028
Palestinian students have several strong scholarship routes in Europe and Asia. Some programmes explicitly include Palestine or the Palestinian Territories, while others are open to international students worldwide.
Because eligibility can change each year, this guide uses the latest official nationality evidence available and highlights where students must re-check the 2027/2028 call.
Best scholarships for Palestinian students
1. Stipendium Hungaricum, Hungary
Stipendium Hungaricum is one of the strongest options for Palestinian students. The latest official partner information listed Palestine as eligible for full-degree bachelor’s, master’s and one-tier master’s studies in any available field, doctoral studies in any academic field, and partial study options.
This means Palestinian students can consider Hungary for:
- Bachelor’s degrees
- Master’s degrees
- One-tier master’s degrees
- Doctoral studies
- Partial mobility, if available
Students must check the annual Sending Partner rules and any local nomination process.
2. Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters
Erasmus Mundus is open to excellent students worldwide, so Palestinian students can apply if they meet programme requirements. The scholarship can cover participation costs and contribute to travel, visa and living allowance.
This is one of the best options for Palestinian students seeking a funded master’s in Europe, especially in:
- Human rights
- Development
- Public policy
- Education
- Engineering
- Climate and environment
- Migration
- Health
- Data science
3. MAECI scholarships, Italy
The Palestinian Territories appear in the official eligible country list for Italy’s MAECI scholarship. MAECI can support master’s, PhD, research, AFAM arts programmes and Italian language or culture courses, depending on the annual call.
Italy can be especially practical for Palestinian students because it also has regional financial aid routes, though these require detailed financial documents.
4. AECID Africa-Med scholarships, Spain
The latest AECID Africa-Med Master call included Palestine among eligible African and Middle Eastern countries. The programme supported official in-person master’s study in Spain, and applicants needed admission to a master’s before applying.
This is a strong route for Palestinian students interested in Spain, public policy, Mediterranean cooperation, governance, development or international relations.
5. DAAD scholarships, Germany
DAAD offers multiple scholarship routes for international students. DAAD EPOS is especially relevant for applicants from developing and newly industrialised countries with at least two years of professional experience.
Palestinian students with work experience in NGOs, public administration, development, engineering, public health, water, education or environment should check DAAD EPOS and other DAAD programmes.
6. Eiffel Scholarship, France
Eiffel supports foreign students nominated by French higher education institutions at master’s and PhD level. Direct applications from students are not accepted. Eiffel provides a monthly allowance and support services, but does not cover tuition fees.
Palestinian students with strong academic profiles can consider Eiffel, especially for public policy, law, engineering, ecological transition and economics.
7. MEXT Scholarship, Japan
Palestinian students have a specific Japan route. The Representative Office of Japan to Palestine published MEXT 2027 Research Student Scholarship information for Palestinians, noting that undergraduate scholarships were not offered in Palestine in that announcement. It also stated that around three postgraduate scholarships are offered each year for Palestinian students.
For Palestinian applicants, MEXT is most relevant for graduate research, master’s and PhD pathways, depending on the annual call.
8. Slovakia Talent Scholarship
The Slovakia Talent Scholarship is open to international students worldwide and offered support for selected bachelor’s, combined bachelor-master and master’s programmes.
This may be an option for Palestinian students looking for lower-cost EU study routes.
