Scholarships for Moroccan Students 2027/2028

Last updated: July 2026

Moroccan students have strong scholarship options in Europe and Asia. The most relevant routes include Stipendium Hungaricum, Erasmus Mundus, DAAD, Italy MAECI, Spain AECID Africa-Med, France Eiffel, Japan MEXT and, where confirmed by annual calls, South Korea’s GKS.

Best scholarships for Moroccan students

1. Stipendium Hungaricum, Hungary

Morocco is listed in the latest official Stipendium Hungaricum partner information. The partner page shows eligible fields for bachelor’s, master’s and one-tier master’s studies, and doctoral studies in any academic field.

This makes Hungary a strong option for Moroccan students, but applicants must check the exact eligible fields for Morocco each year.

2. Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters

Erasmus Mundus is open to excellent students worldwide, including Moroccan students. The scholarship can cover participation costs and contribute to travel, visa and living allowance.

Moroccan students should check Erasmus Mundus programmes in:

3. DAAD scholarships, Germany

DAAD is a strong option for Moroccan students, particularly for master’s and PhD study in Germany. DAAD EPOS supports applicants from developing and newly industrialised countries with at least two years of professional experience.

Moroccan applicants with experience in development, public administration, engineering, climate, energy, water, health or education should check DAAD EPOS.

4. MAECI scholarships, Italy

Morocco appears in the official eligible country list for Italy’s MAECI scholarship. MAECI can support master’s, PhD, research, AFAM arts programmes and Italian language or culture courses, depending on the annual call.

Italy is also a practical option for Moroccan students because of regional financial aid and moderate tuition in many universities.

5. AECID Africa-Med scholarships, Spain

Morocco was included in the latest AECID Africa-Med Master call. The programme supported official in-person master’s studies in Spain and required admission to an eligible Spanish master’s before applying.

This is highly relevant for Moroccan students because of the strong Spain-Morocco academic and regional connection.

6. Eiffel Scholarship, France

Eiffel is open to foreign students nominated by French institutions for master’s and PhD study. It provides an allowance and support services, but not tuition fees.

Moroccan students with strong academic records and French or English profiles should consider Eiffel, especially for engineering, law, political science, economics, management and ecological transition.

7. GKS, South Korea

There is direct evidence of a Korean Embassy in Morocco announcement for the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship Undergraduate Degree Program.

For 2027, Moroccan students should check the Korean Embassy in Morocco and Study in Korea for the new GKS undergraduate and graduate calls.

8. MEXT Scholarship, Japan

MEXT requires nationality of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan, and applications are usually submitted through the responsible Japanese embassy or consulate.

Moroccan students should monitor the Japanese Embassy in Morocco for annual MEXT announcements.

9. Slovakia Talent Scholarship

The Slovakia Talent Scholarship is open to international students worldwide and can support selected bachelor’s, combined bachelor-master and master’s programmes.

This may be a useful lower-competition European option.
