National Scholarship Programme of Slovakia
The National Scholarship Programme supports international students, PhD candidates, researchers, teachers and artists for study, research or teaching stays in Slovakia. The official programme terms state that applications are submitted online and the system opens at least six weeks before the deadline.

Eligible nationalities
- International students studying outside Slovakia.
- Master's students or students who have completed at least 2.5 years of university study in a similar programme may be eligible.
- PhD candidates, university teachers, researchers and artists may apply under their categories.
- Applicants who recently spent too long in Slovakia may be excluded.
- Applicants already funded by another Slovak public scholarship for the same stay may be excluded.

- Obtain invitation or acceptance.
- Prepare the study or research plan.
- Apply online through scholarships.sk.
- Submit before the deadline.
- Wait for selection results.
Usual timeline
- Start preparing: 3 to 5 months before deadline.
- Online system opens: at least 6 weeks before deadline.
- Main deadlines: commonly April and October.
- Results: usually within a few months.

- Payment: monthly during the approved stay.
